Stripes Overview

The privacy of your data is of paramount importance to Real Magnet. The following Privacy Policy details the rules and procedures by which Real Magnet collects, manages and uses the personal information of customers and prospects. Real Magnet will never license, trade, sell, or otherwise transfer the personal data of its customers or prospects with the consent of the customer or prospect.

  • During the account provisioning process, customers are required to provide Real Magnet with contact and billing information, such as company name and address and name and email address of users. This information is gathered via off-line means and maintained in Real Magnet’s corporate files. This information is used to process invoices, and is added to Real Magnet’s CRM for customer support purposes. In addition, the email addresses collected are added to Real Magnet’s monthly newsletter list so that new customers may receive news and updates about the MagnetMail application.
  • Recipients who no longer wish to receive emails from Real Magnet, except for transactional messages, may click an unsubscribe link that is contained in every email message. Those recipients who unsubscribe are done so automatically and will no longer receive email messages from Real Magnet.
  • Real Magnet also acquires information on prospects and customers during the marketing process. Prospects may visit Real Magnet’s website (www.realmagnet.com) and submit a form to request a product demonstration, download a whitepaper, or request other information from Real Magnet. These forms may ask prospects to submit the following information so that a sales representative may arrange the demonstration: first name, last name, email address, phone number, and company name. This information is stored in Real Magnet’s CRM system. The email addresses collected during the marketing process are added to Real Magnet’s monthly newsletter list.
  • Similarly, customers and prospects who accept Real Magnet’s invitation to attend educational and/or promotional webinars are required to register. Typically, attendees are required to provide their first name, last name, and email address during the registration process. In many instances, Real Magnet already has these data points which are then pre-populated in the registration form. If Real Magnet does not possess the data, attendees are required to provide it. This information, too, is stored in Real Magnet’s CRM system and the new email addresses that are collected are added to Real Magnet’s monthly newsletter list.
  • Customers can use a credit card to pay for Real Magnet’s services. Credit card information is gathered by offline means and is not stored anywhere in electronic form. Users of Real Magnet’s events registration module have the option to configure their MagnetMail account to accept credit card payments via a merchant account. Customers must acquire and maintain their merchant account independent of Real Magnet as Real Magnet does not provision, host, or maintain merchant accounts for customers. Real Magnet merely acts a conduit for a registrant’s credit card information and does not maintain or store any credit card information. To repeat, no credit card information of any kind is stored anywhere on the MagnetMail system or by any other software or online applications that are controlled by Real Magnet.
  • Real Magnet uses web beacons (1 x 1 pixel, invisible image that is embedded in the HTML version of Real Magnet’s corporate email messages to customers) to track if a message has been opened. Web beacons do not collect any personally identifiable information. Instead, they are used to measure customer interest in the content of Real Magnet’s email messages and to allow Real Magnet to collect and store data like email address and date and time the recipient open the message. Recipients of these messages have the ability to block the web beacons by enabling image blocking in their browsers or opting to receive messages from Real Magnet in a text only format.
  • Real Magnet’s corporate emails also can track when recipients click a message link. When a recipient clicks a link in a message, a request is made to Real Magnet’s servers to execute the action associated with the link (e.g. download a document, launch a one-off email to a specific email address, visit an identified web page). This allows for the recordation and storage of information such as email address, date and time the recipient made the request. Real Magnet does not collect or store any personally identifiable information during this process.
  • When customers and prospects link to a third party website via a Real Magnet email, Real Magnet loses control of, and is not responsible for, the content and privacy policy of the third party site. Some of these sites may collect personal information and visitors are responsible for reading and understanding the privacy policy of these websites.
  • Real Magnet identifies and monitors the IP addresses of visitors to its corporate website, blog, and some of its social networking sites. The company uses this information to assess the value of the content located on these pages. No personally identifiable information is collected during this process. Real Magnet also identifies and monitors the IP addresses of users of the MagnetMail application. In addition to the reasons listed above, this is done also to analyze server problems, user trends, and for the general purpose of keeping the system optimized.
  • Real Magnet uses “cookies” to track certain web pages a recipient visits after clicking a link in an email message. A cookie is a file sent to a web browser by a web server that is used to record a visitor’s activities on a website. Real Magnet does not use cookies to collect any personally identifiable information. Most web browsers provide users with the ability to disable cookies. With cookies disabled in a recipient’s web browser, this feature will not function.
